EMPOWER - Champions for Children's Safety & Rights

The health systems in Sri Lanka are stretched, especially post-Covid. Organisations are so short on funding that they lack the resources to transport victims of abuse to shelters. For every entity remains focused on the same thing: how can we keep offering counselling to survivors to help regain their self-confidence and get them back on their feet? It’s a sweeping fight that’s rooted in basic human rights: decency, respect, value of life, dignity, autonomy, personal liberty and the right purse a happy, peaceful, fruitful life.

The brand identity design taps into these sentiments, exploring how we can visually interpret the essence of empowerment for survivors of abuse and in a way that they can gravitate towards, lean into and take comfort in.

We created an identity inspired by crossing two fingers across one another thus creating a heart symbol. We will use this symbol as a teaching aid for the people of Sri Lanka and teach them to use this sign in times of violence to signal and alert their families and neighbours about a potentially hostile situation at home or in social circumstances.
